Here are a few key tips to ensure you have the most beautiful wedding - whatever the season!

Whether you are planning a sunny summer or rich winter wedding, it’s really important to consider every element – from colours, to entertainment, to the type of food you offer. This can really help create a special and memorable day. Here are a few starting points for the four seasons which will hopefully get the ball rolling and inspire…
Winter wonderland…. Don’t think that a winter wedding doesn’t mean colour – this season showcases deep rich colours such as mulberry, ivy green and deep reds. Using velvety, silky and luxurious materials can create a dramatic and sumptuous effect. Keeping it seasonal also means you have can have the perfect wintery shades. Winter flowers like amaryllises, winter jasmines and heathers mixed with foliage such as ivy and holly can create a really textured and unusual bouquet. Decorate with fairy lights and candles the ambient light will reflect your colour palette and create extra atmosphere.

Summer celebrations…. The great thing about a summer wedding is the promise of balmy, dreamy evenings for celebrating outdoors – whether in a marquee or on the terrace of a stately home, you can do something a little more daring! A fabulous way of providing unusual evening entertainment and creating a wonderful memory for you and your guests is a breathtaking fireworks display - perhaps as part of an evening wedding. 1st Galaxy offer a  wedding fireworks display to suit all themes and wedding sizes.

Spring delights….  Planning a seasonal wedding means serving up delicious, local produce and offering a menu that reflects the time of year. If you are having a Spring wedding this is a great time to source both vegetables left over from late winter and new spring crops; fresh young vegetables such as asparagus, baby carrots and sugar snap peas are a great accompaniment to lamb. Finish off with a gooseberry or rhubarb-based desert.

Picture perfect autumn… Beautiful coppery, ready and golden tones can be seen everywhere at this time of year which means a perfect backdrop for the wedding photographs. Why not have dried autumn leaves as your confetti for the ‘action’ shots, or look for a venue with an avenue of trees to really have truly ‘Technicolor’ memories of your day.

We hope these starting points have provided a little inspiration on creating your dream wedding for any season – just remember to enjoy planning your big day too!
